Facilities
Chota Falls encompasses 150 acres of magnificent
mountain property in Rabun County, Georgia. In addition to the
estate’s natural amenities which include two waterfalls, numerous
creeks, a lake, several fish ponds, hillside vineyards, there are
three charming lodges that provide guest accommodations as well as
dining facilities for visitors to Chota Falls. All of the outdoor
venues and structures are available for beautiful wedding
ceremonies, marriage vow renewal ceremonies, and lovely receptions.
Events may be scheduled at Chota Falls throughout the year.
Chota Falls boasts the owner’s Beautiful Tuscan home as well as
three guest houses; the Mountain View Lodge, Orchard House and the
Carriage House. Guest accommodations total nine bedrooms, each with
a private bath (see Accommodations for more information). Several
properties adjacent to Chota Falls also maintain rental cottages
that provide an additional 13 bedrooms. In the nearby town of
Clayton, many more rooms are available in well furnished hotels,
charming bed and breakfast, and a golf resort.
In addition to the guest quarters, Chota Falls has several unique
gathering areas. The largest of these is the Stekoa Creek House.
Significant features of this venue include the Chota Creek Pub on
its main level, two large tented flagstone patio areas (one on each
side of the house), and the Stekoa Room upstairs. The pub offers
table seating for 32 guests with an additional 10 seats available at
the bar (with room for 200 or more on the pub’s covered patios).
Connected to the Pub is an area referred to as the Breezeway. The
Breezeway is a lovely covered dining area that offers two
fireplaces, flagstone flooring, decorative sconce lighting, two
walls of French doors and seating for 100 guests. Open the French
doors to the tented flagstone patio and now you have heated space
for 70 additional dinner guests. The Stekoa Room, on the upper
level, is perfect for climate controlled wedding receptions, or
rehearsal dinners for up to 100 guests. Table seating for an
additional 20 guests is available in the adjoining Arbor Room and an
additional 30 to 50 people can be seated under the Arbor Terrace
Tent.
The Treehouse at the Upper Falls, a large shaded deck in the midst
of rhododendron and mountain laurel is nicely equipped with a bar,
refrigerator, fire pit, and bathhouse that all overlook the
beautiful Upper Falls. The Treehouse is a favorite setting for a
rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon or romantic wedding ceremony where
at night tree lights beautify the rushing waters of the falls and
creek. It can easily accommodate as many as 50 to 60 guests.
The Vineyard Overlook is a spacious deck situated high atop the
vineyard hill and highlights the panoramic mountain view of the
valley and creek below. Take pleasure in the stunning setting for a
wedding ceremony, reception or bridal brunch for as many as 80
guests, or seated luncheon or dinner for 50 to 60.
We at Chota Falls are very excited as the estate’s newest addition,
the Vineyard Wedding Chapel. Allowing us to function as your
year-round Georgia mountain wedding venue, this incredibly romantic
chapel adds to the Tuscan theme of hillside vineyards amongst
mountain vistas. Artfully crafted stonework masterfully create a
picturesque scene of gardens, fountains, sitting areas and reception
or pre-function tented patio. Brides will feel well cared for in the
chapel’s bridal dressing area, which is nicely outfitted to
coordinate large wedding parties. Marriage vow renewal ceremonies
are also popular for this Vineyard Wedding Chapel. Dine and dance 80
to 100 guests for hours away under tall white tents above the
patio's charming stone garden/fountain area.
